Vous avez bien rigolé parce bien sûr vous pensiez que Barack Obama parlait des Etats-Unis d’Amérique et de ses 50 états. On May 15, 2008, James was badly humiliated when he appeared on Hardball alongside Mark Green of Air America Radio to debate host Chris Matthews in support of the remarks made by President of the United States George W. Bush on May 15, 2008 during a speech to the Knesset in Israel. Bush implied that there was a connection between Britain’s pre-World War II Conservative Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s policy of appeasement towards Hitler and the policies of leading Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, in reference to Obama’s expressed willingness to meet with the leaders of certain American adversaries in the Middle East. James was challenged by Matthews to explain exactly what Chamberlain did, which he was unable to do, instead repeating, “It’s the same thing” in a loud, high-pitched voice during five minutes of repeated questioning. Fellow guest Mark J. Green of Air America radio was clearly embarrassed for Kevin James’ glaring lack of knowledge, and urged James to stop digging himself further into “a hole”. Green also explained how Conservative talking heads often know nothing about what they’re saying, but merely repeat buzzwords designed to frighten and mislead Americans. Although claiming to reiterate what Bush said, he eventually admitted ” he did not know” what appeasement meant, nor who Neville Chamberlain was, leading Matthews to state: “if you don’t know what appeasement is about then don’t talk about it.” Matthews dismissed James as “pathetic,” going on to draw a distinction between appeasing one’s adversaries (by giving them something) and simply talking to them. Matthews was clearly disappointed in his guest, and explained the difference between historical appeasers like the conservative Neville Chamberlain (who handed Czechoslovakia to Hitler) and modern leaders like Barack Obama who favor negotiation.

This guys would have been better off if he said: “I personally believe that US Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don’t have maps…”

Lorsque dans le Kentucky la campagne Obama distribue ce genre de flyer , on pourrait penser que le sénateur de l’Illinois est un membre du GOP (oui, il y a des noirs chez les républicains), ou bien un démocrate conservateur.
On a déjà parlé du côté conservateur de Barack Obama, côté obscur si l’on veut, côté que les médias ignorent trop préoccupés à en faire un gauchiste, dangereux ou pas. Reprenant bêtement comme des perroquets le classement du National Journal.
Doug Forrester, du Christian Broadcasting Network, à propos de ce flyer et plus généralement du parcours spirituel de Barack Obama, note qu’il ne devrait pas être sous estimé par les conservateurs et qu’il pourrait convaincre des/les électeurs évangéliques.
I know the conservative policy purists will say that Obama is liberal and therefore Evangelicals won’t buy his “Evangelical speak”. Not so fast. Remember, many people vote based on an emotional connection to a candidate or if they can relate to that person. Obama may need to work on this perception that he is “elite” but when he talks about Jesus and the Bible and the fact that he’s a sinner, it makes him more real and in the process, more electable too.

En tout cas, encore une mauvaise nouvelle pour Hillary Clinton qui pensait sûrement décrocher cet endorsement. Howard Wolfson, porte-parole d’Hillary Clinton, s’est dit surpris :

La victoire qui compte !
Comme nous le disions hier, l’information de la soirée ce n’est pas la victoire d’Hillary Clinton, qui n’a pas arrêté l’exode des superdélégués vers Barack Obama, mais bien la victoire de Travis Childers dans le Mississippi.
Hier soir, Travis W. Childers (Démocrate) affrontait Greg Davis (Républicain) pour un siège à la chambre des représentants dans le premier district du Mississippi. Et lors de cette élection, on a assisté à une nouvelle victoire démocrate dans un district républicain considéré comme imprenable il y a peu encore :
in normal times, Republican candidate Greg Davis would win this special election in a yawn. After all, Wicker won his seat seven straight times, with never less than 63 percent of the vote. President Bush carried this Mississippi district four years ago with 62 percent of the vote. The district has been a safe Republican seat ever since the heady days of the Newt Gingrich conservative revolution.
Et même si Childers est un démocrate très conservateur (pro life, pro gun), cette victoire ne présage rien de bon pour les républicains en Novembre. Et d’une certaine façon, elle valide la candidature de Barack Obama :
